Quinnipiac University medical students to host silent art auction on Nov. 8 to support Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services

The students are organizing the event to support Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services, a New Haven-based refugee resettlement agency.

Students at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University will host their second annual silent auction featuring artwork by students and faculty from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Quinnipiac, 370 Bassett Road.

The students are organizing the event to support Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services, a New Haven-based refugee resettlement agency. IRIS members and refugees will discuss their experiences and how individuals can get involved to help advance the agency’s mission. Donations are suggested for entry. A Middle Eastern dinner that includes hummus, mutabal, muhammara, pita bread, fatayer and baklava will be provided.

“With the support of the public and the Quinnipiac community, we will help IRIS to bring families together and allow them to establish their place as contributing members in our community,” said Traci Bourne, a second-year medical student.
