Senate Republican President Pro Tempore Len Fasano (R-North Haven) joined 960WELI radio host Vinnie Penn at the iHeartMedia Stuff-A-Bus food collection event in Hamden.
This marks the 20th year Vinnie Penn has been a part of the Stuff-A-Bus event which collects food and monetary donations to support the CT Food Bank during the holiday season. It also marks the 27th year iHeartMedia Communities started the fundraiser.
“Nearly 500,000 Connecticut residents struggle with hunger every day. It is so important to donate whatever you can to help support the many families, children and seniors in need of assistance, especially as we enter the cold winter months. Every donation goes a long way,” said Sen. Fasano, who donated a turkey today. “Thank you to Vinnie Penn, WELI and KC101 for so many years of hard work and holiday cheer. And thank you to all who have made donations over the years for their selfless contributions to our communities.”
Sen. Fasano also presented Vinnie Penn with a citation, introduced by him and State Senator George Logan (R-Ansonia), recognizing two decades of service running the Stuff-A-Bus fundraiser and raising awareness for hunger throughout our state.
For those who wish to make a donation, food can be brought to The Hamden Plaza at 2100 Dixwell Ave. Hamden on Thursday November 16th and Friday November 17th from 6am – 7pm. Online donations can be made here.
