State Representative Yaccarino was honored this week to be appointed by Governor Dannel P. Malloy to be a member of the Executive Committee to the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame.
A former member of the U.S. Navy Reserves, Yaccarino currently serves as Ranking Member of the legislature’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee. As a member of the Executive Committee to the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame, Yaccarino will be tasked with reviewing nominees to the Veterans Hall of Fame and determine those individuals who meet the eligibility for inclusion in the illustrious group.
“It is an honor to serve on this committee and to learn so much about the great men and women that have served our country valiantly and have continued to serve the people of Connecticut,” Yaccarino said.
The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame was created by Governor M. Jodi Rell in 2005 to recognize the post-military achievements of outstanding veterans and to spotlight the substantial contributions of veterans to communities across the state. To date, seventy-two distinguished veterans of Connecticut are honored in the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame including former President George Herbert Walker Bush and former US Congressman Rob Simmons.
Yaccarino represents the 87th district covering North Haven.
