Robert Joven, of North Haven, has been appointed associate director for public services at the Health Sciences Library on Quinnipiac University’s North Haven Campus.
In his new position, Joven is responsible for working with faculty and students in the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, the School of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing to provide curriculum support and training on the numerous educational resources available to them.
“Providing information literacy to all those who use the Health Sciences Library is an important goal of mine,” Joven said. “It can be challenging for students and faculty because there are so many resources available to them. It’s my job to help them to determine which resources will work best for them.”
Joven comes to Quinnipiac from the University of Connecticut Health Center, where he was an information services librarian for 10 years. Before that, he worked at the New York University School of Medicine.
Joven holds a master’s degree in library science from Long Island University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Southern Connecticut State University. He is a member of the Medical Librarians Association, the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries and the Connecticut Association of Health Sciences Librarians.
