Rep. Yaccarino was selected for the honor, citing his work to benefit children and families, especially in his vocal support for House Bill 5002, which was signed into law as Public Act 24-91.
Those who attend will tour the law school and learn about its rigorous academic program and how the faculty works closely with students to develop a course of study that matches their goals.
The legislation was crafted in memory of North Haven Fire Lt. Anthony DeSimone, who died in December 2022 upon returning home from working a 36-hour shift.
The grant will support renovations including upgrades for code compliance, paving, exterior improvements, and interior improvements to the kitchens and bathrooms.
Over the course of an hour, the North Haven legislators joined Corey Smith, a representative from The Salvation Army in the time-honored tradition of ‘Ringing the Bell’, greeting holiday shoppers with Christmas cheer, and handing out candy canes.
The team of Omari Battle of Boston, Massachusetts, Quinn Dallai of North Haven and George Hart of Brielle, New Jersey, won the $3,000 top prize for “Hylite NFT.”
Donations to Benefit Veterans and Individuals in Need
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) announced today that the School of Education at Quinnipiac University is one of 39 providers from 16 states and Puerto Rico to receive accreditation for its educator preparation programs.
The conference, which is funded by Netter’s Inclusion and Diversity Council, will focus primarily on healthcare disparities in dermatology. The panelists are Dr. Alaina James, Dr. Brett Sloan, and Dr. Roxana Daneshjou.
Representatives Yaccarino, Candelora, and Fishbein will discuss changes to Connecticut laws over the last ten years, the most recent data, details of the House Republican’s plan to address the problem through legislation, and answer residents’ questions about this issue.
With colder temperatures on the way, Rep. Yaccarino is collecting donations of NEW thermal underwear, sweatshirts, sweatpants, warm hats, gloves, and heavy winter socks.

The funds granted to North Haven will be used for improvements at Temple Pines, a Senior Living Complex.
The conversations will feature facilitated small group discussions between younger and older LGBT adults and allies who will talk about a wide variety of topics including ageism, relationships, community, identity and language.
