On Wednesday morning, State Rep. Dave Yaccarino (R –North Haven) spoke during a press conference and attending various event centered around Connecticut Hospital Day at the State Capitol, which is an event sponsored by the Connecticut Hospital Association.
Connecticut Hospital Day is a day for hospital staff and administrators to have substantive discussions with legislators about the issues that are critical to hospitals, including proposed hospital cuts and taxes in the state budget as well as regulatory burdens that would negatively affect hospitals.
“I am so glad that I had the chance to meet with Yale New Haven Hospital representatives today,” said Rep. Yaccarino. “I am always open to discuss issues important to the hospitals that service our community and look forward to more conversations going forward especially about the hospital tax.”
The Connecticut hospital health systems contribute $26.2 billion to the state and local economies. They employ 100,000 people and invest $1.6 billion in community benefit initiatives each year.
