On December 4th State Rep. Dave Yaccarino (R-87) and State Sen. Len Fasano (R-34) met with North Haven residents at their monthly “Coffee with Your Legislators” event at McDonald’s on Washington Avenue.
The legislators offered residents an update on legislative activity, answered their questions about the bipartisan budget negations that have fallen apart and listened to their concerns about the community.
“With budget negotiations in a critical state and funding to our hospital system being cut, it’s important to keep residents updated on legislative developments, and give them the opportunity to ask questions and express their concerns,” Rep. Yaccarino said.
“Our hospitals should not be viewed as simply a means of managing the state’s budget deficit. The hospital industry plays a pivotal role in keeping our state running. Hospital employees live here, purchase goods and services here, and pay taxes here. When these employees are laid off, it won’t just be the hospital industry that is affected; it will be our residents that help bolster the economy. These cuts will negatively impact our entire state and we will see the deficit continue to increase.”
Coffee with Your Legislators is held on the first Friday of every month from 8:00am – 8:45am at McDonald’s, located at 129 Washington Avenue, North Haven.
